Position Summary

Morins Exteriors is seeking an experienced Lead Window, Door & Siding Installer to lead residential exterior remodeling projects in the Proctor, Minnesota area.

This is a hands-on leadership position with a primary focus on replacement windows, exterior doors, and residential siding installation. You will work alongside your crew while coordinating daily activities, maintaining project momentum, resolving field issues, and ensuring installations meet Morins' standards for fit, finish, weatherproofing, safety, and customer care.

The role also includes exterior trim, flashing, soffit, fascia, gutters, and related exterior work as required, but the main emphasis is on leading high-quality window, door, and siding installations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced exterior installer who understands the technical details of window and door replacement, siding systems, flashing, sealing, water management, and finish work and who can also keep a small crew organized, productive, and accountable.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform the removal and installation of replacement windows and exterior doors.
  • Ensure windows and doors are installed square, level, plumb, properly shimmed, insulated, sealed, flashed, and weatherproofed.
  • Lead and participate in the installation of steel siding, vinyl siding, exterior trim, soffit, fascia, flashing, and related exterior systems.
  • Inspect openings and existing conditions and identify issues involving framing, rot, water intrusion, flashing, or structural preparation before installation proceeds.
  • Complete and oversee detailed finish work around windows, doors, siding transitions, trim, and exterior openings.
  • Plan layouts and accurately measure, cut, fit, and install materials.
  • Install seamless gutters and downspouts when required.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities and assign work based on project priorities and team capabilities.
  • Train, coach, and support installers while reinforcing safe work practices and quality standards.
  • Monitor workmanship throughout the project and address deficiencies before work is considered complete.
  • Keep projects progressing efficiently and communicate delays, material needs, or site issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized, and professional job sites.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, project managers, and office personnel regarding progress and job-site conditions.
  • Record work hours, project notes, materials, and field documentation through JobNimbus and QuickBooks Workforce.
  • Represent Morins professionally at every customer's property.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of hands-on experience with residential window installation, exterior door installation, siding, or closely related exterior remodeling work.
  • Strong knowledge of proper window and door installation, including measuring, shimming, insulation, flashing, sealing, weatherproofing, and finish details.
  • Strong experience with steel siding, vinyl siding, exterior trim, soffit, fascia, or comparable exterior systems.
  • Previous experience as a lead installer, crew leader, lead carpenter, or field supervisor is preferred.
  • Ability to lead a small crew, delegate responsibilities, maintain productivity, and keep projects moving.
  • Strong measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, and installation skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve common field issues involving window and door openings, siding transitions, flashing, moisture, and existing construction conditions.
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing clean, durable finished work.
  • Strong commitment to job-site safety and completing work correctly the first time.
  • Professional communication skills when working with homeowners and coworkers.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, rooflines, and other elevated areas.
  • Willing and able to use digital systems for timekeeping, project documentation, and field communication.
  • OSHA certification or other relevant safety training is a plus.
